ABOUT
Paul Parente is an actor, playwright, teacher—and now novelist. As an actor he has performed on stages in New York, Philadelphia, Austin, TX and around the country on tour with The National Shakespeare Company. He was a Founding Member of Commonwealth Classic Theater Company and toured for fifteen summers in the Philadelphia region with their Free Theater in the Parks Program.
His Dramatic works have been produced in New York and Philadelphia by The Stillwater Theatre Company (Midsummer); Synchronicity Theatre Company and Commonwealth Classic Theatre Co. (Droit du Seigneur), Pen to Stage and The New Stagecraft Company (Two and Twenty). Other works have been included in reading series by The Acting Company and Salamander Repertory and Commonwealth Classic Theater Company. His first short play Two and Twenty, a winner of the 1987 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival, is published by Samuel French and has been produced nationally and internationally (well, Canada). His work has been supported by a writing fellowship from The New Jersey Arts Council.
Paul also teaches Drama at a suburban Pennsylvania school where he has directed many plays and musicals over the course of fifteen years. He is an avid soccer player and skier. He lives with his wife, his son, and his dog Tigger.
